The Guide to Comfort Colors' Color Chart

By ShirtSpace | May 16, 2024 |  Updated May 16, 2024

Looking for rich, unique colors that stand apart? Comfort Colors has some of the most unique and saturated colors in the world of blank apparel due to the brand’s signature garment-dyed fabric. One look at the Comfort Colors color chart, and you will see what we mean!

Exploring the Comfort Colors Shirts Color Chart

Garment-dyed pieces are dyed after construction, versus many other blank apparel lines that use pre-dyed fabric before sewing begins. What’s the benefit of garment-dyed fabric? The answer is more consistency among batches and the deep colors you desire. Some garment-dyed colors even have a worn-in vintage look that many prefer, as they fade beautifully. With over eighty color options in the Comfort Colors shirt color chart, there is something for everyone!

Choosing Your Shade: A Buyer’s Guide

The Comfort Colors color guide is a great resource to see clear swatches that are also downloadable. That way, you can easily compare and contrast colors. Use the swatches to build color palettes and plan color schemes. The Comfort Colors color guide also allows you to view all the styles that are available in that color. Use helpful features such as filtering options that allow you to sort by color family and color pattern. By clicking the information symbol (the “i” within a circle symbol), you can learn useful information such as the exact Pantone, CMYK, RGB and HEX color codes. These tools make achieving color consistency much easier. Take the guesswork out of color selection with this amazing shopping asset.

Top Picks from the Comfort Colors Range

The Comfort Colors C1717 in “watermelon”, 1745 in “citrine”, C1717 in “seafoam”, 1745 in “ocean” and C1717 in “island green”, laying stagged on top of eachother in the grass.

Although all the Comfort Colors shades are attractive, there are some that stand apart. Blacks, whites and the many shades of gray will always be at the forefront of popularity due to their versatility, the high contrast they provide for printing, and they are overall crowd favorites.

But even Comfort Colors stands apart in the neutrals department. Take for instance the color “pepper” that has variation in value, making it a unique color compared to other charcoal grays we see from other brands.

Comfort colors sweatshirts, shorts, pants and tank tops have a more limited color selection, with the t-shirts offering more options. Something you will notice across many of Comfort Colors’ colors is that they are drawn from nature – including names inspired by flowers, plants, food, spices, bodies of water, and more.

The Color Blast collection comprises ten colors in the Comfort Colors color chart. These colors are also garment-dyed and soft-washed, but have more texture in appearance and feel. No two pieces are exactly the same due to the unique dyeing technique. The result is more subtle than tie-dye, but more bold than your standard solid tee. Color Blast is offered in both a t-shirt and crewneck sweatshirt option, so you can dress for any temperature.

Styling with Colors of Comfort Colors

There are many ways of styling Comfort Colors apparel when it comes to both color and garment type. Get creative with both for a wardrobe that lets you express your personal style!

Beyond color, the soft-washing during the garment-dyeing process makes Comfort Colors t-shirts incredibly soft, despite their more substantial fabric. Embroiderers especially love Comfort Colors heavyweight tees because they do not have to sacrifice softness to get the thick, durable fabric that works best for their craft. The soft face of the fabric is fantastic for smooth prints as well. Wear a blank or decorated Comfort Colors tee or sweatshirt – it’s up to you!

When it comes to fit, Comfort Colors tees are very versatile. You can go for a more fitted look, or size up for an oversized look. Most adult Comfort Colors styles are unisex sizing, but there are some women’s styles too. There is even a kid’s tee from Comfort Colors, the C9018. Everyone can incorporate Comfort Colors into their closet.

Monochromatic

Pick one color and stick to it! You can add variation, such as wearing a darker top and lighter bottom, or vice versa. Play around with featuring different shades in the same color family for an outfit that looks put together, but still has a bit of variety.

You can really make a design on a t-shirt or sweatshirt pop when you wear a monochromatic outfit, and the design differs in color, as we can see in the purple outfit shown above, and the pink outfit shown below.

Color Blocking

If you are feeling a little more adventurous with your outfit selection, then we recommend color blocking. It’s a fun way to add splashes of color, and also to practice your color theory. Play around with complementary, analogous or primary colors for a wide variety of looks.

You can’t go wrong with cool tones. Some assert that purples and teals are colors known to look good on everyone. Plus, blue colors really bring out this facial feature of those that have blue eyes, and complement those with brown eyes.

Neutrals

Neutrals are more popular than ever! Even though Comfort Colors is known for its saturated color options, its neutrals shine just as bright. Whether it be earthy tones or classics like black, white, or gray, Comfort Colors garment-dyed fabric brings the shades to life!

Layering

Layering is a great way to color block, or even just add style to your outfit – in the case of a monochromatic outfit. It’s also practical since it's easy to shed layers throughout the day when dressed in layers. Ideas could be as simple as wearing a sweatshirt over a t-shirt or wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt over a long-sleeved one. Or they can be more creative, such as wrapping a sweatshirt around your waist, around your shoulders, or diagonally across the chest.
